On Friday, February 26th 2016, children from kindergarten one explored different cultures, traditions and customs as they participated in our United Nations Day program. They also learned some words from foreign language like Japanese “Konnichiwa”, Korean “Annyonghaseyo” and many more. The children also performed on the stage by doing a catwalk showing the traditional clothes from various countries and by singing a song from the country they represent. After that, Miss Ivy, our expatriate teacher from the Philippines told a short story about her country, we learned the language which is called Tagalog, and she wore the traditional clothes called Filipiniana. It was a great time and the kids really had fun and enjoyed learning new things during this program. We wrapped it up by having a meal from different countries like spaghetti from Italy, mantau from China, sushi from Japan and satay from Indonesia. The students can choose freely on which meal that they want to eat.
